Earl was born on February 29, 1924 to Mae Oma Marr and John Marr in Hickory Ridge, Arkansas and passed away on April 14th, 2016. He was raised on a Dairy Farm in Starlight, Pennsylvania. He met his wife, Marilyn Lucille Marr in Corning, Arkansas; they were married on September 13, 1944 and were blessed to spend the next 72 years together.
Earl served in the Navy from 1942-1946; during this time he traveled around the world twice by ship. He moved to Bakersfield where he worked for Marathon Oil for 30 years. After retirement he and his wife traveled, enjoying hunting and fishing. In retirement Earl worked as a crossing guard and loved working with the kids and their parents. Later in life he adored spending time with his dog, Gizmo, who he owned for 13 years.
He was preceded in death by his son John Austin Marr and his sister Lydia Mae Marr.
Earl is survived by his wife Marilynn Marr and his daughter Sharon Morris; his grandchildren Christy Ballou and Don Ellis; his great-grandchildren Ashley Vaughan, Jordan Brown, Jonathan Ballou, Ashley Sumner and Robert Lancaster; his great-great grandchildren Sophia Vaughan and Aiden Sumner; and his sisters Juanita White and Gloria Jean Spencer.
