Edith C. Conklin September 17, 1917 - October 22, 2012 Private graveside service will be held for Edith on Thursday, November 1, 2012. She passed away on October 22, 2012 after a long illness and went home to be with her Lord. She was born to parents Artie and Lena Hart on September 17, 1917 in Aspermont, Texas. The family moved to California in 1921. She attended schools in Yorba Linda and Fullerton. She married Ernest William (Jim) Addington in 1937 and together they had two children. They moved to Bakersfield in 1943. She was active in many clubs and organizations. She particularly enjoyed Bingo, Bunco, dancing and being with many friends. She was a member of the Columbus Street Baptist Church. Edith was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years "Jim" and her second husband Charles D. Conklin, her brother and sister-in-law Travis "Chief" and Virginia Hart. She is survived by a daughter Judith Ederra and husband Marcelino, a son James Addington and wife Betty, 5 granddaughters Theresa Rader and husband Gary, Tamara Saso and husband Mike, Tonya DeBranch and husband Steve, Melissa Kreckman and husband Jeff, Kimberly Olson and husband Casey, 13 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind beloved niece Janet Rivera and nephew Ross Hart. The family would like to thank Edith's wonderful caretakers and nurses at Spruce Garden, Evergreen Acute Care and especially to Hoffmann Hospice.
