Elbert Lee Cooley was born to Lillie Mae Cooley and Elbert Lee Cooley Sr. in Marlow Ok on 2/15/1936.
He survived by his daughter Sherri Lee Garza her husband Rudy Garza and his son Elbert Lee Cooley Jr. He is also survived by his six grandchildren and his thirteen great grandchildren. He had four siblings (two brother and two sisters) : Arlene McGarrah , Thomas Cooley , Carlos Cooley, and Nelly Lopez.
In 1943 he moved from Marlow Ok to Bakersfield, CA which is where he joined the United States Airforce at the age of 17 from 1953-1957. During his time in the military he met his first wife Shirley Sue Ham at the Terrace Drive-In Picture Show. Elbert married Shirley shortly after he finished his time in the military. In 1994 Shirley went to be with the Lord. In 03-10-1995 Elbert married his second wife Phyllis Stanley and remained with her until she passed in 2008.
Elbert was more than an ordinary Man from being an amazing Father, Friend, and a follower of Jesus Christ who also always made time to do his favorite activities: Fishing, Camping, Fixing up Classic Cars, and ridding the good old Rollercoasters. Elbert will be truly missed but never forgotten, We Love You Dad.
The Viewing will be on Monday December 14 2015 from 4pm-8pm at Hillcrest Memorial Park and Mortuary at 9101 Kern Canyon Rd. Bakersfield ca. The Celebration of Life Services will also be held at Hillcrest Memorial Park and Mortuary cemetery on Tuesday December 15, 2015 at 10am. The family will be having a lunching after the Celebration of Life Services details and more will be given at the close of the Celebration.
