1926 - 2016 Obituary Condolences
Elizabeth Espineda Ordiz passed away September 11, 2016, at the age of 90. She was born in Watsonville, California on August 13, 1926.
Raised in Stockton, and growing up in a family of six siblings, times were difficult and she found herself working in the agricultural fields with other family members. The family remained together, even through their stay in internment camp during WWII. After marrying she lived throughout the San Joaquin Valley in various camps working alongside her husband until finally settling in Delano, CA. Her jobs varied from farm laborer to working in the Delano school district before venturing out to start a rest home business which later turned into other business opportunities with her husband. She truly loved working with people in the in various civic, fraternal and professional organizations in city of Delano and in particular, the Filipino Community of Delano.
Elizabeth was preceded in death by her loving husband of 57 years, Benny Rillas Ordiz. She is survived by her brother, Frank Panoncialman, sons Benny and wife Wilma, Danny and wife Nalani. She will be missed by her grandchildren, Maili Neverosky and husband, Daniel, Nikki Richards and husband Justin, Staci Tolentino and husband Ray, Jami, Kaili, and great-grandchildren, Makana, Stella and Benny Neverosky, Koa Ibach, Kaden, and Kameron Richards, Eli, Elizabeth and Otis Tolentino.
Words cannot express the loss to all that knew her and loved her. She will be dearly missed and will forever hold a special place in our hearts. Also, our family would like to thank and praise the doctors, nurses, and staff who devotedly cared for her at the Delano District Skilled Nursing Facility.
Family and friends are welcome to attend a visitation on Sunday, September 25, between 4:00 pm - 6:00pm at the Delano Mortuary, 707 Browning Road in Delano, CA. A Rosary will be held from 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 26, at 9:00 am Our Lady of Guadalupe Church located at 1015 Clinton St., Delano with the internment following at the North Kern Cemetery. A reception will immediately follow the burial at the Delano Mortuary.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the scholarship funds at the Filipino Community of Delano or the Soroptimist International of Delano.
