Elizabeth Langston Obituary

Elizabeth Langston September 24, 1931 - November 12, 2010 Elizabeth Langston was born September 24, 1931 in Porterville, CA to Hugh and Ila Clark. She was a lifelong resident of California, living in Kern County for many of those years. A member of Fairview Baptist Church of Bakersfield and previously of Country Oaks Baptist Church of Tehachapi, Elizabeth was an active volunteer in her church. She served in the women's ministry and Senior Gleaners food ministry for many years. In addition, she was part of the Free Wheelers Volunteer Transportation Corps, driving cancer patients to appointments as well as a Hospice volunteer. Elizabeth was a passionate reader who passed along her love of books to her three daughters. She also enjoyed bowling, knitting, camping, cooking and piecing together jigsaw puzzles. She is survived by her daughters, Nancy Tiffany of Carson City, NV; Kathy Nobles of Tehachapi; and Rebecca Langston-George of Bakersfield. She was grandmother to Jason Nobles, Jonathan Nobles and Anne George as well as the great-grandmother of nine and great-great grandmother of one. She was preceded in death by her husband, of fifty-eight years, Joe Langston; her parents; sister, Thelma Justus; granddaughter, Nicole Reed; and grandson, Timothy Joseph Nobles.
