Estefana S. Gomez December 25, 1919 - October 12, 2010 Estefana S. Gomez died peacefully in her home October 12, 2010 with her daughter and three sons present. At the age of 90, two months shy of her Christmas birthday, she leaves behind her loved ones with wonderful memories. She spent her life as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She will be missed by all those who were blessed to have been part of her life. She is preceded in death by her husband, of 48 years Nicolas B. Gomez; grandsons, Ruben Marichalar Jr. and Michael Dominic Gomez; and sister, Elida Garza. She is survived by her daughter, Sarah Marichalar; sons, Nick, Benny and Joseph Gomez and families; and sister, Katie Celedon of Del Rio, TX. Estefana, Grandma Fanie, was able to share in the joy of the births, birthdays and weddings of her numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. A family viewing of Estefana, who captured the looks and hearts of all she met will be Sunday, Oct. 17, from 2-5 p.m. and Tuesday, Oct. 19, from 3-8 p.m., at Greenlawn Chapel, River Blvd. A Rosary will be recited at 10:00 a.m., followed by a Mass on Wednesday, October 20, at St. Joseph's Church, 1515 Baker Street. Rev. Miguel Flores will officiate. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery (River Blvd.).
