Born January 11th 1930 in Aguas Calientes Mexico and came to Kern County in the 1950's. Esther was a home maker for 60 years and enjoyed cooking and caring for her grandchildren. She is survived by her children Esther and Osman Kaldirim, Lorenzo and Danielle Marquez, Victor and Virginia Marquez. 11 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, her sisters-in-law Teresa Chavez and Carmen Marquez.
Preceeded in death by her parents Jose Maria (Papa Chema) and Josephina (Mama Pina) Chavez. Her husband Lorenzo Marquez, her son Salvador Marquez (Chava), her brothers and sisters: Padre Aurelio Chavez, Martin and Julia Chavez, Antonio and Enedina Chavez, Jesus and Elia Chavez, Guadalupe and Ruben Castorena, Teresa and Andres Castaneda, Francisco (Poncho) Chavez, and Salvador Chavez.
Viewing will be Thursday, March 5th, 2015 from 5:00 to 8:00pm with the rosary at 7:00pm at Alma Funeral Home, 2130 E. California Ave., and Mt. Vernon, Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday March 6, 2015 at 10:30 am at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 601 E. California Ave., and interment will follow at Greenlawn Southwest Cemetery.
