Eugene "Gene" Clausen Obituary
Eugene "Gene" Clausen went to be with our Lord on September 8, 2014. He was 90 years old. Gene was born in Long Beach, CA, on May 4, 1924. He was a teacher at Taft Union High School for 43 years beginning in 1950. In recognition of his teaching at Taft College, Gene was awarded the title of Professor Emeritus on May 21, 1993.
Gene served as director of Camp Condor for several summers early in his teaching career. Previous to teaching, Gene served in the Navy with the rank of AOM (Naval Aviation 3rd Class). He was discharged in 1946.
Gene met his wife Marjorie from Topeka, KS, in 1943, and they were married in 1946. Marge preceded him in death in October 2003. He is survived by his three daughters, Jan (Bill) Gary of Riverbank, CA, Judy (Jeff) Arnold of Yuba City, CA, and Cindy (John) Norton of Bakersfield, CA; five grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 13, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. at Greenlawn Southwest Memorial Chapel, 2739 Panama Lane.
