Everett M. Jennings Obituary

Everett M. Jennings was born in Wetumka, OK, April 16, 1934 to John D. Jennings & Vivian Davis-Jennings. He went on to his eternal resting place Sunday morning April 10, 2016. Milton was the youngest brother of Eugene Jennings, Erma Wilson & Burney Jennings. He attended Shilo elementary and Douglas High before moving to California and attending The Bakersfield High School.

Milton married Barbara Banks in 1955 & to this union was born three children. Milton was a devoted husband & father who took pride in raising his children and instilling in them a strong work ethic. He believed that with hard work and perseverance there was nothing that couldn't be accomplished. In his younger years, Milton would hold multiple jobs; janitorial at car dealerships, tow truck driver, and mechanic at S.A. Camp (AKA-Bakersfield Dodge) before securing a job at Tosco Oil refinery, which later became Texaco ... He retired after working over 20 yrs. at the oil refinery. He was supportive and involved in all of his kids activities including baseball, wrestling, track & field, and basketball. 'Milt' enjoyed fishing, camping, boating, gardening and traveling with his family.

Milton accepted Christ at a young age, reaffirming this by being baptized at St. John MBC where he was a member. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, two brother-in-laws, a niece, & two nephews. Left to celebrate & cherish his life are two sons, one daughter, his sister, two brothers, a sister-in-law, seven grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, two nieces & three nephews. He will also be deeply missed by numerous cousins and dear friends.

Viewing to be held at Hillcrest Mortuary, Thursday 4-8 with services being held at St. John MBC on Brundage Ln., Friday April 22 at 10am.
