Frannie went to be with her Lord Jesus Christ on Friday, July 11, 2014, after a brief illness. She was born to the late Frank and Josephine Boespflug of New Leipzig, North Dakota. A graduate of New Leipzig High School, she was a lifelong, faithful "Tiger." Fran went on to earn her associate's degree in education at Dickinson College.
She moved to Bakersfield in 1969, where she eventually met the love of her life, C.B. Barton. She was employed at Kern Radiology as a medical transcriptionist for over 20 years.
She often visited New Leipzig for Oktoberfest, where she loved to polka, and was a lifelong reader of the Grant County News. She enjoyed bowling, cooking for her family, and going to Sunday school. She was a very loving wife, mother, and grandmother.
In addition to her husband, C.B., she was preceded in death by her sister, Margaret, and brother, Curtis. She is survived by her son, Curtis Kunzmann and his wife, Robin; granddaughters, Katie Chilton and her husband, Andrew, Carrie, and Kristie Kunzmann; stepsons, John Barton and his wife, Debbie, Jerry Barton and his wife, Jana, and their families; her sisters, Carrie Roth and husband, Arlan, Bernice Thielges and husband, Mark.
A chapel service will be held on Friday, July 18, 2014, at 2:00 p.m. at Greenlawn Memorial Chapel, 3700 River Blvd. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Project Hope at Canyon Hills Assembly of God.
The family would like to express a special thanks to the Wendell Vinson family, the ICU staff at San Joaquin Hospital, and the excellent staff at Golden LivingCenter. For condolences please visit www.greenlawnmortuaryandcemetery.com.
