Frank Diaz, age 81, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 8th, 2016 in San Luis Obispo, California. Frank was born in September, 1934 in San Luis Obispo, CA, to parents Frank and Rose Diaz.
He graduated from SLO High and went on to play football at Taft College before entering the Army. After that time, he lived in Taft and Bakersfield until finally making his way back to the Central Coast.
He was a family man and a loving father. He married Barbara in 1967 and the couple had 2 children together. Barbara had 5 children from a previous marriage and Frank loved them as his own.
He was a social, active man who truly enjoyed life. Professionally Frank was deeply involved in the automobile business for the majority of his life.
Frank is survived by his dear friend, Althea; his brother, Tony, his sister, Pauline; his daughters, Donna (Kurt) Diaz and Carrie Carpenter; his sons, Anthony (Malinda) Diaz, John (Sandra) Downey, and Donald Downey, 19 grandchildren, and 21 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, his wife Barbara, and two of his children.
