FRANK FABBRI

1940 - 2016 Obituary Condolences
FRANK FABBRI Obituary
Frank Alexander Fabbri, 75, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, September 6, 2016, in San Luis Obispo, California, at French Hospital with his family by his side. Frank was born to Fernando Fabbri and Grace Ansolabehere Fabbri in Bakersfield on December 17, 1940. He attended St. Francis Parochial School, Garces Memorial High School, and Bakersfield Junior College. He began working for the City of Bakersfield, Parks Department, as a Park Maintainer in 1958, and retired 38 and a half years later as Park Superintendent. He had a dedicated loyalty to the city and an impeccable work ethic. He prided himself on the fact he never took a personal day of sick leave while working for the city.
In 1961, he met his wife, Jackie Nicholson, and they were married for 3 days shy of their 54th wedding anniversary. They bought a summer home in Pismo Beach in 2000 and moved there permanently in 2008. Frank was very active in the Pismo Beach Mobile Home Park, serving on both the Board for many years as well as the Park Operations Committee. You could always find him driving around the Park in his golf cart ready and willing to help anyone who needed something done.
He truly enjoyed doing things for others, and if he wasn't sure about what or how something was to be done, he would seek out the answer and then go back and do it. Within the last few years, he took on a new hobby of finding and refurbishing dart boards. He loved playing darts and could be seen on a regular basis Tuesday nights at the PB Moose Dart Tournament. Frank was a strong willed, fun loving, adventurous, and fair person. He loved working on projects for his grandchildren. His interests included traveling, dune buggying, fishing, and hunting.
He was preceded in death by his parents. Frank is survived by his devoted wife, Jackie; his son, Jack Fabbri and his three children, Justin, Christian, and Chloe; two stepsons, David and Kevin Wescott; his daughter, Andrea Burkhart and her husband Eric, and their two children, Blair and Bianca; his three brothers, Fred and wife Karol (Arcadia), Richard and wife Melisa (Germany), and Stephen and wife Sharon (Bakersfield); and his beloved cat, Toots, who doesn't understand why he isn't home anymore.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, September 19th, at St. Francis Church at 10:30 a.m., with burial to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park Southwest. Visitation will be Sunday, September 18th, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., with recitation of the Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at St. Francis Church. Pallbearers are Fred Fabbri, Richard Fabbri, Stephen Fabbri, Jimmie Boone, Joe Eyraud, and Kydaran Pascoe.
