Frank Singh Castaneda September 23, 1949 - March 26, 2013 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Frank S. Castaneda. He was a kind man, a gentle friend, and devoted father. Frank joined our Heavenly Father, on March 26, 2013. He was 63 years old. Frank was born in Bakersfield, to Luis and Amelia Castaneda, a loving brother to 13 brothers and sisters. Raised to be a hard-worker, Frank spent his youth laboring in the watermelon fields. He graduated from South High School in 1967, after which he married his high school sweetheart, Hope; they were married 38 years. A devoted father, Frank spent much of his time with his wife and two beautiful children, Gina and Michael. He adored his grandchildren, Samantha, and Brice, and great-granddaughter Audrianna. He bragged about and doted over his grandchildren, and they lit up his world. Leisurely he enjoyed tennis, and held a passion for sailing. Frank was struck with illness in 2001, leading him to create a home at Rehabilitation Center of Bakersfield, where his love spread like wildfire. Staff took to his warmth and an extended family began to grow. Despite his disability, Frank continued to enjoy life by attending concerts, movies, and countless family gatherings. He cherished his visitors and offered peaceful words of encouragement and support. He reminded everyone to give thanks and that God was in control. Frank is reunited in heaven with his parents Luis and Amelia, his loving wife Hope, brother Luis, and sisters Dora and Angie. He is survived by his brothers Raymond, Joe, Raul, & Larry Castaneda, sisters Gloria Hulsey, Mary Gonzaga, Carmen Scott, Lucy Williams, Norma Flinn, Sylvia Arnoldus, his children Michael and Gina, grandchildren Samantha, Brice, great-granddaughter Audrianna and countless aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. T he Castaneda Family would like to express our sincerest gratitude and appreciation to the amazing staff at Rehabilitation Center of Bakersfield for the wonderful care and support over the years. Your dedication to the comfort and care of Frank was outstanding and our gratitude is immeasurable. Also, a special thank you to Sam Neira, your support and friendship to Frank will always be eternally appreciated.
