Freddie Marin Damian 1932 - 2013 Tehachapi native Freddie Marin Damian entered into rest at his home on Thursday, June 6, 2013. He was 80 years old. Freddie was born at home in Tehachapi on September 3, 1932. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. He worked for a short time at the Ford Co. in San Jose, California, but eventually returned home. For over 30 years Freddie was employed at Cal-Portland Cement Co. and there he made many lifelong friends. He enjoyed tending his yard and waving to friends as they passed by. Freddie would always be willing to lend a hand to help others. Freddie was preceded in death by his parents, Esiquio and Rosa Marin Damian; his beloved wife, Irene; and siblings, Ernestina Franco, Juventia Mungia, Alfred Damian, and Rudy Damian. He is survived by his daughters, Karen Pollard, Kathy Galvin; son, Troy Damian; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren; and siblings, Roque Damian, Lewis Damian, and Mary Draper. He will be greatly missed by all of his family and his many friends. The Mass of the Resurrection will be held Thursday, June 13, 2013, at 9:00 a.m. at St. Malachy Catholic Church in Tehachapi. Mr. Damian will be laid to rest with a private inurnment at Tehachapi Public Cemetery - Westside. The family extends thanks and prayers to all for your thoughts and prayers.
