Frederick E. Evenson Obituary
Fred was born and raised in Dearborn, MI. He served his country as a corpsman in the US Navy for 4 years after high school.
He moved to Bakersfield, CA in 1975 and worked as an industrial electrician at Hopper and the Bakersfield Californian retiring in 2003.
In his younger years, Fred was a member of the KC Boat and Ski club and safety officer at all KC boat drags. In the last 10 years, he was an active member of the California Car Club Association and Good Guys Hot Rod Association. He worked and assisted in many car shows and organizing fund raising events such as the Crippled Children's Rod Run and Toy Run. He truly enjoyed spending much of his time restoring old cars into hot rods and watching NASCAR.
He also was actively involved in the Kern County judicial system by serving on the KC Grand Jury.
Fred was preceded in death by his parents Gertrude and Frederick Evenson and Brother Tom Evenson.
He is survived by his daughters, Dawn Evenson and Tammy Nicoletti. Son in law, Tim Nicoletti. Grandchildren, Dennis and Gianna Nicoletti and Chloe Beamer. As well as his beloved dog, Ruby.
Services will be held on Saturday, July 25, 2015 at 10:00 am at Kern River Mortuary 1900 N. Chester in Bakersfield, CA.
