Gail June Davidson, 63, of Bakersfield, went to be with the Lord on September 17, 2014 while surrounded by family and friends after a short battle with Carcinoid Cancer. Gail was born on March 12, 1951 in Bakersfield, CA to David Lindsey and June Rush.
She is survived by Tony, her loving husband of 44 years. The two married September 10, 1970 in Las Vegas, NV. She is also survived by her two children, Ryan Davidson (Michelle) and Sara Gibson (Dustin). Gail's two grandsons, James Davidson and Dade Gibson, with one granddaughter, Sienna Gail Gibson expected in February. She also has three sisters: Nina Winter (Steve), Darlene Dearman and Jill Lindsey. Gail was also survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends that she loved dearly.Gail was an accomplished nurse of over 30 years, in which she was a newborn nurse at Memorial, a public health nurse in Kern Co., and an associate professor of nursing at Missouri State, Cox College of Nursing, and CSUB while she published many nursing articles. Upon retiring, she was a nursing consultant for the MVCCP at Kern County Public Health and First 5 Kern. Gail also dedicated herself to Thirty-One.Gail loved her family and friends, and above all, she loved God. She was a beacon of hope and light for many. Her mission in life was to encourage women in the Lord, help children, and strengthen families. She believed through nursing, teaching, and Thirty-One that she could achieve that.Her love of the beach, sand and wearing sunglasses was known by everyone. Gail loved to garden and plant flowers. She will be forever remembered by her blonde hair, blue eyes and bright smile.
Visitation services will be held on Monday, September 22, 2014 from 4-8 p.m with the Memorial service on Tuesday, September 23, 2014 at 10:00 am, at The Celebration of Life Chapel at Greenlawn Southwest, 2739 Panama Ln., Bakersfield, CA.
