George Loubey Obituary

George Henry Loubey 1931 - 2010 A celebration of life for George Henry Loubey will be held in the Northminster Presbyterian Church (3700 Union Avenue) on Friday, September 24, at 11:00 a.m. George went to be with our Lord Jesus Christ on September 15, 2010. George was born in Claremore, Oklahoma on February 18, 1931. He married his beloved Joy on March 24, 1951; they enjoyed a loving relationship for 58 years, before Joy moved her residence to Heaven on June 29, 2009. Dad was a Yeoman Third Class, serving on the USS General George M. Randall during the Korean War. Dad then worked in construction for the next 55 years. Over the years, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, bowling, and golfing. Our Dad had a heart to help and do for others - he enjoyed cooking deep bit BBQs for many organizations, started Kases for Kids for the Jamison Center, collected tabs (lots of them) for the Ronald McDonald House. He was a long time member of the Independent Order of Foresters where he served and received many distinguished honors. During the last couple of years, Dad also became a member of the Rosedale Lions Club where he enjoyed serving and also received distinguished honors. We will always remember our Dad for his great sense of humor and how he loved to laugh, even if the joke was on him. Our Dad is survived by daughter, Elaine Blas; daughter and son-in-law, June and Jeff Cornell; son and daughter-in-law, James and Stacey Loubey; 6 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Lavetta Anderson and many nieces and nephews. We would like to express our thanks to Optimal Hospice for all the care they gave to our Dad. In lieu of flowers, the family asks gifts be made to the Jamison Center or Youth for Christ/Teen Parents Program. For additional service information call Basham Funeral Care at 873-8200. George Henry Loubey was my Husbands Great Uncle. Although we didn't know Uncle George exsisted untill recently it was by pure mistake that we found out. I was doing family research online and come across his name. I called him and soon after that Uncle George and Aunt Joy came to Arkansas for a visit. It was the first time in many years that Uncle George came back to where his Grandmother lived. After meeting them for the first time it was like we new instantly that he was family. Our hearts and our souls connected in so many ways it just sort of clicked and come together. He always had a smile and new just how to make people feel comfortable. In my Book The Lord broke the mold when he made Uncle George and Aunt Joy. There will never ever be two people like them ever. You could always tell they loved each other and that God, Family, Friends and basicly anyone else in between come first. My Heart is breaking right now over the loss of two Angels that God put on this earth. But at the same time it is rejoicing because now Heaven is rejoicing because it has two of the most loving and special angels back where they belong. If I could have seen Uncle George again. I would tell him, I love you so much. You will always be in my Heart and I will never ever forget how special you were.

Elaine, June and James my heart grieves with you for your loss, however, we know it is not goodbye just "see ya later". I may not have known my uncle all my life but the last 10 years of knowing him as brought such joy. He was a great man and he radiated love and joy. During this time and always you are in my prayers.
