George J. Marsh Obituary
George J. Marsh was born March 17, 1930 in Bakersfield, CA to Jane and George W. Marsh, the youngest of three children. He grew up in Bakersfield, attending Kern Union High School (BHS) and Bakersfield College. After high school he worked in Northern California until he met his bride-to-be, Jacqueline Hendrix and returned to Bakersfield. Their three children were born in Bakersfield. During this time he began a 36-year career with McMahon's Furniture, eventually becoming credit supervisor of the district. He met Dell-Louise Fobes, and they married in 1970. If you were blessed to know George, you were invited to watch sports (any and all events) at his home, travel the world with him, and enjoy many happy gatherings with family and friend
Throughout his life he loved his family, sports, animals ,geology, archeology, paleontology, and travel. He touched so many lives. He had been a member of the FOE 93, the Lupus Support Group, the Parkinson's Support Group of Bakersfield and San Luis Obispo, East Hills Christian Church.
He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Dell-Louise, his sister Betty Jones-Fryatt and husband Bill, his children Deborah Lee Dremel and husband Robert, Susan Jane Miller and husband Lawrence, grandchildren Michael Dremel, Stacie (Ron) Vogt, Damon (Michelle) Youngblood, Rebecca (Malcolm) Cross, Jenny Marsh, Stephanie (Matthew) Fillbrant, Heather (Michael) Hale, and Courtney (Jonah) Kuntz as well as 17 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his mother Jane, his father George, his brother Otto and his son George Steven.
