Born on February 24, 1921, George was raised in Reedley, CA where he began his farming career as a teen alongside his father, Nazareth. George farmed in both the Reedley area and the Imperial Valley until the late 1950's when he moved to Kern County and began growing watermelons in the Arvin Wheeler Ridge area. George had a true passion for farming and over his 70-year career he grew several crops including melons, banana squash, potatoes, carrots and cotton. George is preceded in death by his father Nazareth Noroian, his mother Shooshon Noroian, his oldest daughter Barbara Lynn Noroian and sisters Sally Noroian and Francis Apkarian. George is survived by his daughters Beverley Pyle, Bette Cooper and husband Michael; grandchildren Julie Pyle, Jennifer Pyle, Kathryn Cooper Kern and husband Justin; great grandsons, James Nelson and Cooper Mathias Kern; brother Nish Noroian, sisters Nell Rodrick and Vivian Minasian; and numerous nieces and nephews. George took tremendous pride in both his land and his farming operation. George was dedicated and passionate about farming and he had an old school work ethic. George was a man of his word and you always knew where he stood. He believed in agreements made with a handshake and he was respected by his peers. George valued his business relationships, especially the one developed over the years with the many fine people of Grimmway Farms and longtime friend Vic Capinha. George had a soft spot in his heart for animals, with a special love for dogs. George loved his many German Shepherds, but he always made a home for any and all strays that made their way on to his property. In his last years on the ranch, George truly enjoyed the company of his dog Molly. The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks and gratitude to the compassionate and caring staff at Glenwood Gardens, Station II: George's physician Dr. Parev Memon and oral surgeon Dr. Stanley Koh; Bill Fanning of Fanni-Lift for his friendship and professional assistance with transporting George to appointments; Rita Cellular for her special visits and friendship; and the special visits from nephew Robert Greenburg and good friend Mark Valpredo.
