George Robert "Buzz" Kruger Obituary

George Robert "Buzz" Kruger
April 1, 1920 - August 5, 2018

Robert passed away peacefully at home with family at his side. Robert was born in Bakersfield, to Samuel and Mary (Claudino) Kruger. Robert attended area schools in McFarland and worked on his father's farm. During World War II, Robert was drafted into the U.S. Army and proudly served in the Pacific Theater on the Philippine Islands of Leyte and Cebu. After the war, he worked on the family farm. He met his wife Betty, they were blessed with 3 boys. Buzz made his childhood dream of being a pilot come true. The love of flying soon became his employment. Buzz started his business Central Flying Service, which he owned for 30 years as an aerial applicator (crop duster). Buzz and Betty's most cherished moments were flying the Bonanza to Oxnard or Los Angeles to have lunch at their favorite restaurants.

Buzz was known as a very patient, hardworking, humble man. He was a faithful Christian and was a member of the First Baptist Church, now North Kern Christian Center in Delano. Buzz was known as a handy man, there was nothing he couldn't build or fix and helped maintain the church.

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 67 glorious years Betty, his sons Samuel and wife Lisa, Kurt and wife Theresa, grandchildren Daniel and Arianna, Sister Inez, nieces and nephew. He was preceded in death by parents Samuel and Mary, Brother Wilbur and his son Danny.

Buzz will truly be missed he will surely be blessed with a new pair of wings to fly with angels. The family would like to thank caregivers Ana and Myra. Graveside services will be held at Delano Cemetery on Tuesday, August 14th at 9am. Buzz was privileged to attend Honor Flight of Kern County. Where he had many fond memories.

In Lieu of flowers consider a donation to Honor Flight of Kern County.
