Goldie Mae Wiginton Obituary
Goldie Mae Wiginton December 2, 1919 - March 4, 2013 Goldie Mae Wiginton was born December 2, 1919 in Monticello, Indiana the youngest of seven children born to Margaret (Coats) and Alpha Luse. She moved to Richgrove, California in 1946 and later settled in Wasco. Goldie and Wayne Wiginton were married in 1964 and celebrated 34 years of marriage before he passed away in 1998. Goldie worked as a waitress for many years and people will remember her many years at Tom's Coffee Shop. After retirement Goldie and Wayne enjoyed spending winters in Palm Springs at the Fountain of Youth Spa with their many RV friends. Goldie excelled in quilting, crocheting afghans and candy making. She exhibited her goods at the Kern County Fair and won numerous ribbons for her crafts. Every Christmas her kitchen was filled with her homemade candies that Wayne distributed to area farmers which were his customers. They looked forward to receiving the huge white candy boxes each year. Goldie's price of admission to each family gathering was candy; she loved showing her care and love to family members with this sweet act of kindness. Goldie was preceded in death by her parents; six siblings; husband, Wayne in 1998; son, Tom Ford in 2010; daughter, Marilyn Greer in 2010; and grandson, Michel Craig in 2011.
