Gregorio Herrera Sr. 1935 - 2010 Services will be held Tuesday, Nov. 16, 10:00 a.m., at St. Joseph's Church on Baker Street. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park (3700 River Blvd.) Gregorio Herrera Sr. was born on March 12, 1935 and left this world to be with the Lord on November 10, 2010. He was surrounded by his loving family during the last days of his life. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him. He was an honest hard working man and devoted his life to his family. He was never too busy for his family, we could always count on him. Gregorio was born in Zacatecas Mexico and moved to Rio Grande City, Texas where he was raised. He married Gregoria Rios on March 5, 1954 whom he shared his life with. They later moved to Bakersfield in 1971 where they called home. Upon moving to Bakersfield he worked as a farm laborer and later for the City of Bakersfield in the Parks and Maintenance Division. After retiring he worked as a crossing guard and enjoyed the company of the Valle Verde School children and parents. He is survived by his wife, Gregoria of 56 years; his children, Benito, Baldemar, Gregorio Jr., Maria, Sylvia, Michael, Joe, Richard, Selinda; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
