Harry Drummond Jr. Obituary
Harry Jr., age 92, passed away peacefully at home in Bakersfield, California, on the morning of June 22, 2014, with his family by his side. He was the beloved husband of Patricia Ann Webber
for 22 years and father of two sons Harry III and James Edward, three grandchildren Micah,
Rainbow and Krista, and four great grandchildren Liliana, Samuel, Benjamin, and Andrew. He was preceded in death by his two sisters, Dorothy and Helen.
Harry was born to Harry Sr. and Ruth Drummond in Los Angeles, California, was baptized in the Foursquare Church by Aimee Semple McPherson, graduated from George Washington High School, and then enlisted with the Coast Guard during World War II. In 1945, while stationed in Eureka, California, he met and married Viola Dee Hunt. They soon moved back to Los Angeles where their two children were born. They often had get togethers with relatives and neighbors, and took trips to the San Bernardino and Mammoth mountains with their trailer to relax and fish.
He learned the plumbing trade from his father and worked as a plumbing contractor in the Los Angeles area all of his life until retiring in 1982 to Bodfish, California, where he met Patricia.
Harry Jr. was a lifetime member of the Elks Lodge for over 65 years and served as an officer in the Kern River Valley Elks.
Harry Jr. will always be remembered as a generous, loving father and husband who brought joy and a welcome smile to everyone he met. He had many friends and liked being around people of all ages. He loved to golf and fish, and traveled extensively with Pat to many countries. When
there were problems he was always available to provide wisdom and candor. His family and friends will miss him very much because he was such a big part of their lives.
