Helen Lavern (Stimson) Jordan June 4, 1923 - April 9, 2012 Helen was born in Murphy, Oklahoma to Isaac Burton Stimson and Rosetta (Tate) Stimson. She moved to Bakersfield with her family in 1935. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Charlie Jordan; brothers, Steve, Floyd, Vernie, Clarence, Arthur and Francis; sister, Sue McCone. She is survived by her son, Don Hinkle and wife Jeanie; step-daughter, Pam Paillet and husband Bob; brother, Bert Stimson and wife Bobbie; brother-in-law, Bob McCone; sisters, Betty LeWarne and husband Ralph, Margaret Campisi, Martha Mikkelsen and husband Larry; grandsons, John Hinkle and wife Denise, Jim Hinkle and wife Michelle; great grandchildren, Sean and Emily Hinkle, Kristen and Brittany Hinkle; and many loving nieces and nephews. Helen worked for the Lockheed Corporation building aircraft until the Bakersfield plant closed. She continued work in retail sales up to the time she created her own custom drapery business operating it until retirement. Mom was always there for her family and friends in times of need providing comfort and support. She was a strong Christian who never wavered in her faith, living a long fulfilled life. She passed peacefully in her sleep at age 88. She will be greatly missed by many but is now at rest in the arms of our Lord. Visitation will be held Monday, April 16, at Mission Family Mortuary, 531 California Avenue from 1:00 - 5:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 17, at Coronado Baptist Church, 516 Norris Road.
