Helen Lucille Crosby Duke

Helen Lucille Duke was born on March 6, 1932 to Donald S. and Julia W. Jenkins in Weiser, Idaho. Her family moved to Wasco, California in 1947. She attended Wasco High School where she met Bill R. Crosby. They were married on November 9, 1949 in Reno, Nevada and had three sons, Mike (Kathy), Steve (Rhonda) and Phil (Tommie Self). Bill and Helen divorced in 1966 and Helen married Jack Duke in 1980.
Helen worked for many years at the K-Mart on 34th St., Graphic Systems on Kentucky St. and retired in 2000 from Top Priority Sales where she supervised the food and beverage demonstrators at Costco. She discovered late in life the joys of baseball and football. She loved watching the New York Yankees and Derek Jeter and the Arizona Cardinals and Larry Fitzgerald. Her other hobbies included sewing, crocheting and Turner Classic movies.
Helen was preceded in death by her parents, sister Barbara Woolley, both ex-husbands and Helen's beloved cat, Sweetie. She is survived by her sons and daughter-in-laws, grandchildren Clay (Haley) Crosby, Jeff Crosby, Mark Crosby, Roger Crosby, Marcy Crosby, Megan Crosby and Katie Venegas (Eric), and great-grandchildren Jackson and Samantha Crosby, Marrisa Venegas and sister Joyce Anderson.
Graveside services will be at Hillcrest Cemetery on Tuesday, February 24th, 2015 at 1:00 pm. The family would like to thank Dr. Don Tran and Dr. Vihn-Lihn Nguyen and staff and the outstanding folks at Optimal Hospice and St. Anthony Home.
