Henry VanderPoel Obituary
Henry Andrew VanderPoel, born on June 11, 1940 in Artesia, California, to Pete and Agnes VanderPoel. He attended Rancho Alamitos High School, Garden Grove, California. He married the love of his life, Agnes Schouten in 1960.
He is survived by his wife, Agnes, his children Agnes (Pete) DeJong, Henry (Theresa) VanderPoel, Susan (Jim) Regli, John (Kim) VanderPoel, Robert (Lisa) VanderPoel, and Brian (Kerri) VanderPoel. He is also survived by his brother and sister, Pete VanderPoel and Beatrice Moons. He is survived by 31 grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Henry and his brother, Pete, went into partnership in the dairy business in 1960's in Cypress, CA with the help of their stepfather John Oosten. Henry and Pete moved their families and their dairy to Chino in 1964. He continued to dairy in Chino and brought his sons into the business. He moved his dairy to Wasco in 2006 with his son, Bob, as a partner and resided in Bakersfield.
He served from 1988 to 2012 on the California Milk Advisory Board. He also served on the Milk Producer's Council for several years.
He loved to fish, to bowl, and to spend time with family and friends. He was a man of great faith.
Services will be held at 11 AM, Tuesday, June 10th, at St. Francis Church, Bakersfield. A rosary will be recited on Monday, June 9th at 6:30 PM at St. Francis Church, Bakersfield. Family has requested a private burial.
