Herbert Lee Lawson Obituary
Herbert was born in Missouri on February 6, 1928 to Everett Lee Lawson and Lillie Mae McCown. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother. Herb is survived by his wife of 17 years, Flaviana Lawson, his children Jimmy and Teresa Lawson, Bobby and Della Lawson, Beverly and Elias Briano, and Pamala and Ron Davis and stepchildren, Noel and Margaritte Nalupa, Aimee and Pep Bagnol, Lillian and Jay Divinagracia and Charmaine Nalpua, 11 grandchildren and 5 step-grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. His memories will be cherished forever in our hearts. He is survived by his siblings John Lawson, Howard and Marie Lawson and Virginia and Garry Weeks, nieces and nephews.
He grew up in Bakersfield where he was the owner of So. Union Truck Repair. He served in the Navy during WWII. He was a member of the Shriners. He had a passion for bowling, fishing, hunting and collecting antique bottles. He was a generous man who helped others. He left this world on January 13, 2015 at the age of 86.
A very special thanks to grandchildren Jeremy and Yvonne Lawson who cared for him untiringly night and day while he was home on hospice care.
A viewing service for Herbert will be held January 22nd, from 4-8 p.m., and graveside services will be held January 23rd, 12 p.m. at Hillcrest Memorial Park with a gathering in his honor at Joy Community Church to follow, 2408 Allen Rd & Rosedale Hwy.
