Herlen "Ray" Tackett Obituary
Ray Tackett was born in Seminole, Oklahoma to Herlen and Pauline Tackett. He was the oldest of three children and moved to Bakersfield when he was a child.
Ray worked in the oilfields for 35 plus years. he loved fishing, camping and the outdoors, dirt track racing, NASCAR and Dale Earnhardt. His favorite team was the Dallas Cowboys. He held a special spot in his heart for his mom's dog Bruno.
Ray was an avid pool player, he started playing APA in 1999 with his first team out of the TRAP. He played out of a few locations out of the last 15 years: Del Rio, Tejon Club, Corner Pocket and Banaceks.
Ray touched many people over the years with his heart of gold. He was a true friend to many and more like family to many more. He was often referred to as a great father figure, a one of a kind loyal friend, a great listener, never judgemental and a great team player that was patient and always eager to help out.
Ray is survived by his children Ray, Jacob, Sam and Joe, Miranda, Anne and Ashley, his 12 grandchildren, his sister Lisa Bartlett, her husband Roy and their three children, along with his sister Paula Marsing and her three children.
The family would like to thank Ray's APA family and friends for all the love and support they have showed throughout this difficult time.
