1947 - 2013 In Memoriam Condolences
Herman D. Bell In Memoriam
In Loving Memory of Herman D. Bell September 24, 1947 - March 13, 2013 A little over five months ago I said good-bye for the last time to my soul mate, the love of my life, my Pookie Bear. Although my heart is broken and the pain reached to the very pit of my stomach I know that he is in a better place now with no pain and suffering. Herman passed peacefully early Wednseday morning March 13, 2013 at home in his bed as he wanted. Tuesday morning he wanted to have his breakfast on the patio and so we did and later in the afternoon he wanted to go for a drive and he chose who would go with him (he was in charge and the boss til the end). His friend Michael Blair was here from CA and he drove, Herman and I were in the back seat and my cousin, Connie, in the front, and we had a good drive around the country roads. He wanted to show Michael were he lived and why he loved it so here. He left this world with such a peaceful look and a smile on his face. I want all of you to know that Herman loved all of his friends and we so appreciated all of the prayers and encouraging thoughts that came his way from all that knew of his illness. We did a lot of reminiscing about the good ole days and all the fun we all had. He loved our camping trips, buggy days, ski trips, bbq's and when we would all gather around the house or in the garage just having a good time. I'm so happy that he was able to talk to a few of you in his final days, you will never know how much that meant to him and how it made him smile to hear from you. We all knew that under all of that gruffness there beat a heart of gold and I know that each person whose life he touched will miss him. We moved to Oregon in April of 2006 and he loved it and was just so happy here, we just didn't have enough time here together. Now our daughter Michelle and I will bring him back to CA for a short time so that we can celebrate the life of this wonderful man, husband, father and friend. We will then bring him back to Oregon, the land he loved, to be set free and soar like an eagle. Come join us on Saturday, August 24th. to celebrate the Life of Herman Bell at: Bob Koelzer's, 2837 Rio Linda Drive, Bakersfield, CA. Time: Open house from noon on. We are having food and beverages and lots of reminiscing for all that knew my Bear. www.bakersfield.com/obits
