Homer Turner McInerney 1919 - 2012 Homer Turner McInerney passed away at the age of 93, on Friday, August 31, 2012, in San Luis Obispo, California. Born, 1919, in Abbott, Arkansas to parents Homer Turner and Aida Medlin Turner, was then adopted, and years later met up with his remarried birth mother, Aida McInerney, and began a long lived relationship with his four new half brothers and sisters, Larry, John, Betty and Margaret. While working for the U.S. Post Office in Bakersfield, he met Elizabeth Eidson Kokjer, and her daughter Joan and married Elizabeth (Betty) on March, 1947. His most important occupation was being a great father and husband, loving unconditionally, always a great listener. He was preceded in death by Betty, his wife of 43 years, his son John Allen (29), daughter Joan Elizabeth (50). He was fortunate to find love again and remarried on April, 1994 in Cambria to Bebe Eidson where they spent 13 years before moving to San Luis Obispo in 2007 to the Las Brisas Retirement Home. Homer loved to travel, take car vacations, mentoring at Juvenile Hall, lawn bowling, bocce ball, and hand ball and playing bridge. He put himself through college and had two very successful accounting businesses in both Bakersfield and Studio City. He is survived by Bebe, his wife of 18 years, his daughter Janet Laiblin and partner (Corky Crain) Indio, son Jim McInerney and wife (Melinda) Studio City, daughter Judi Colson and husband (DeWayne) Lake Oswego, Oregon and step-daughter JoAnn Evans and husband (Dave) Cambria. He was blessed with 7 grandchildren and a step granddaughter and 7 great-grand children and a step great grandson. He held a special love of his nephew Richard Eidson, wife Peggy, their daughter, her husband and their twins.
