Howard was born in Bakersfield to Theodore and Lilly D. Porcho, and went on to join his wife Josie in Heaven on March 3rd after a lengthy illness. He had five brothers and four sisters. He was a barber for over sixty years and owned Howard's Barber Shop. He and Josie were married for 55 years and raised five sons. He was loved by all for his friendly and outgoing personality. His passions in life were his family and his faith.
Howard was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Josie; and grandson, Sammy Jr. He is survived by his sons, Kenny, Lawrence, Sam (Becky), Randy, and Pat (Lisa). He has 11 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
The family would like to thank the staff at San Joaquin Community Hospital and Hoffmann Hospice House for their compassion and loving care of our dad.
Graveside services will be held Thursday, March 10th, at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 3700 River Blvd., at 11:00 a.m. There will be a viewing Wed., March 9th, at Greenlawn Funeral Home.
