Ila E. Talbott 1917 - 2013 Ila Edith Reichardt Talbott was born Sept.1917 in Council Bluffs, IA., the daughter of Ida Moser and Charles Reichardt. She received her education in Iowa and worked for a short period of time in her father's construction business, then took a position as buyer trainee for F.W.Woolworth stores in Southwestern Iowa. April 19, 1940 she married her high school sweetheart, Darwin Talbott, moving to L.A. in the fall of 1942 when he was transferred from his position with Continental Baking Co. Deciding to remain in L.A. when her husband entered the military service, Ila took a temporary job as a clerk typist at Ralph's Grocery Company in Nov.1942; which became the beginning of a 35 year long career. She was the the first woman's vice president in her company's nearly 100 years of business. After retirement from Ralph's Grocery Company, Ila and Dar enjoyed traveling to places of interest around the world and playing golf. www.bakersfield.com/obits
