Ima Jackson Obituary

Ima Dee (Calhoun) Jackson September 3, 1923 - December 2, 2010 Ima was born and raised in Oklahoma but has spent the last 29 years here in Bakersfield. She is survived by her husband of 67 years, James Foster Jackson; 5 children, Berna Burt, husband Lonnie Burt, Gary Foster Jackson, wife Christina Jackson, Randy Jackson, wife Rosalind Jackson, and Jackie Lynn Jackson; 17 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren; sisters, Bernice Loper, Wilburta Akam and Jeanie Sanders; and by an abundance of In-laws, nieces and nephews. Ima was preceded in death by her daughter, Gloria Jane Chandler; brothers, Patrick Calhoun and J.C. Calhoun; sisters, Marilyn Wiley, Ardith Pratt and Nadine Middleton. Even though we were not ready to say goodbye, you will live in our hearts and memories forever as you have touched all our lives in a special way. We love you Mom and will miss you each and every day. Visitation will be Wednesday, Dec. 8, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., with Graveside Services to be held on Thursday, Dec. 9, at 1:00 p.m., at Hillcrest Memorial Park, 9101 Kern Canyon Road. www.bakersfield.com/obits
