Isidra Calma Magno May 15, 1922 - October 20, 2013 Dra. Isidra Tanedo Calma Magno, lovingly known as Cid to her friends and loved ones, went to join our Lord Jesus and our dad, Lolo Ven, in eternal rest on Sunday evening. She was preceded in death by her loving and devoted husband, Vivencio R. Magno; her parents, Fabian and Agida; sisters, Lucia, Anaceta, and Lourdes; and brothers, Paciano and Conrado. She leaves behind her children, Jesus and his wife, Medy, Jonathan and wife, Maria, and Vivian and husband, Johnny; as well as her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Christopher, Regina (Ryan Ruiz), Jonathan Jr.(Ruth), Bryan, Jennifer, Brandon Magno, Jovianne, Johnny, Jovanh, Jovanni Pham, Tristan Magno, River and Rylan Ruiz, plus numerous loving extended family and close friends. She was born May 15, 1922, in Estipona, Pura, Tarlac Philippines. She attended elementary and high school in Tarlac, undergraduate school at Santo Tomas University, and dental school at Centro Escolar University, where she graduated in 1946. She spent the next 20 years as a school dentist supervisor. She met her future husband, Vivencio, in July 1958 during a dental convention in San Francisco. They were married on Jan. 21, 1959, and she went back to the Philippines and retired in 1967 from the dental services and came back to California. She moved to Bakersfield in 1972 and lived there until her death. She worked as a Registered Dental Hygienist for different dentists for 35 years. Cid was involved in the Filipino Community of Bakersfield, St Philip's Church, and numerous other organizations. She enjoyed cooking, dancing, and entertaining others. She especially enjoyed camping and taking her friends to Pine Mountain Lake. Cid lived a long and eventful life and will be missed greatly by her family, friends, and loved ones. Although, her spirit and love for her family will never be forgotten! A celebration of her life will be held Wednesday, October 23, 2013, and Thursday, October 24, 2013, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Greenlawn Funeral Home Southwest, 2739 Panama Lane. A Funeral Mass will be held Friday, October 25, 2013, at St. Philip's Church, 7100 Stockdale Hwy., at 9:30 a.m., followed by interment at Greenlawn Southwest Memorial Park.
