Jack Hubert Pettijohn Obituary
Jack Hubert Pettijohn 1933 - 2013 Jack Hubert Pettijohn, 80, went home to be with His Lord Jesus Christ on March 6. Jack was born in DesMoines, Iowa to Loren and Lucetta. He moved to California when he was 12 and attended East Bakerfield High School. At 18 he was drafted to serve in the Korean War and upon his return in 1954 he married his high school sweet heart, Jo Ann Kelly. They had three daughters, Kelli, Tammi, and Kristi who each knew they were the apple of his eye. He was a member of the IBEW and worked on the AD Edmonston Pumping Plant project and the missile program at Edwards Air Force Base. He was a Jack of all trades and held five contractor state licenses including General Contractor and was one of the first to build a custom home in Hagin Oaks. Spiritually, he was a follower of Jesus Christ having accepted the Lord as his savior in 1963. We are comforted and joyful knowing he is entertaining the crowds in heaven with his antics and his stories. He lived the last nine months of his life at LifeHouse Parkview and was loved and well-cared for by their awesome staff and the wonderful staff of Optimal Hospice. He is survived by his wife, Jo Ann, his three daughters and their husbands, 8 grand kids, and 13 great grandkids. He was preceded in death by one great grandson. The memorial service and burial is at Hillcrest Memorial Park at 9101 Kern Canyon Road, on Saturday, March 16 at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Dove Creek Bible Church, 5131 Office Drive, Bakersfield, 93309, www.bakersfield.com/obits
