Jack Lee Johnson 1934 - 2010 Jack Lee Johnson, age 76, died peacefully on the 22, of September 2010 following a long illness. He was born on the 17, of May 1934, in Springfield, Missouri. He and his family moved to Los Angeles, CA when he was four years old. Jack proudly served his country in the US Army as a Paratrooper in the 82'nd Airborne. For 32 years, Jack protected the streets of Whittier, CA as a police officer where he retired from the department as a lieutenant. Jack was considered a man's man, always leading by example and always seemingly one-step ahead of his peers by foreseeing issues which would impact the department and advising his family and friends early and correctly on the proper course to take. He is survived by two sons, David Johnson of Alton, CA, and Dan and wife Kitty Johnson of Bakersfield; his sister, Sue Winstanley of Riverside; cousin, Gary and wife Sandy Stacey of Fontana; three grandchildren, which he dearly loved, Heather, Robert and Autumn. Friends are cordially invited to gather with the family and share remembrances during a reception at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, the October 4th, at the American Legion, Post 682, 130 Goodman Street.
