Jack Noel Misemer

1938 - 2013 Obituary Condolences
Jack Noel Misemer Obituary
Jack Noel Misemer 1938 - 2013 For thirteen years Jack fought the battle of the debilitating disease of Parkinson's, but on the evening of August 19, 2013 he passed away peacefully with his wife at his side. Jack was born on March 28, 1938 in Bakersfield, CA to Noel and Marjorie Misemer. He attended Standard Elementary, was in the first graduating class of North High School, and graduated from San Jose State with a degree in Civil Engineering. He moved back home to Bakersfield to begin Bakersfield Precast Concrete and Micon Construction where he dedicated his life as owner and operator for over 40 years. On August 28, 1960 he married Jean Elder and after nearly 53 years of marriage they are forever proud of the accomplishments of the family they created. Greg Misemer and his wife Elizabeth have two children, Jacob and Anna. Kay (Misemer) Carlile and her husband David have two children, Bryce and Brett, and a daughter in law, Monica. He is also survived by his sister, Joan and her husband Tom Trotter, their children Pat and Lori Callahan, Doug and Denise Trotter, and Tommy Trotter. And by his sister in law, Joan Millsap and her children Dennis and Sue Schulgen, Tom Angleton, and Ryan and Stacey Wheeler along with many grand nieces and nephews. The other love of his life is his faithful dog Zoe who will continue her loyal service with the residents of Glenwood Gardens in Jack's honor. Jack loved to read, especially trade magazines; he was forever clipping articles to share with others, "Have you read this article?" He also loved to travel to out of the way destinations he found while reading. His favorite way to travel was the back roads where he would stop at odd places to learn something new. One back road trip led him to Bass Lake as a young boy. His father instilled in him the importance of family vacations and 70 years later this family continues and will continue this treasured tradition of meeting at the lake. The family would like to share a special heartfelt thank you to the wonderful, caring staff at Glenwood Gardens, to his special group of life long friends, and to a special "Doodle Group" that filled his heart with laughter. Graveside services will be held Saturday, August 24th at 10:00 AM at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 3700 River Boulevard. In lieu of flowers please make donations to The Bakersfield SPCA, 3000 Gibson Street, Bakersfield, CA 93308 or The Parkinson's Institute and Clinical Center, 675 Almanor Ave., Sunnyvale, CA 94085 www.bakersfield.com/obits
