Jacob Luis Valenzuela Obituary
Jacob Luis Valenzuela 1990 - 2012 Jacob Luis Valenzuela was received into the loving arms of his parents, Maria and Luis Valenzuela, on the most love-filled day of all, Valentine's Day, 1990. From there on love followed this child everywhere he went. His love of God, family, school, and sports is where Jacob lay his true focus. He attended Lamont Elementary, Bill L. Williams, Tevis Jr. High, and Garces Memorial High School. He excelled in music, sports, and academics. He played for winning football and baseball teams, while still having time to play percussion in the school's band. Yet, baseball, his true love, was what brought him the most triumphs, such as being part of the first-ever baseball team at Cal State University, Bakersfield. He also played at Alan Hancock College, and Cal State University, Los Angeles where he had finished his senior year, and was preparing to apply to chiropractic school. On September 12, 2012, Jacob went home to join Our Heavenly Father, and his dad, Luis, who preceded him in death, two years prior. His family finds comfort in that both dad, and son are playing catch in the vast open fields of Heaven. He is survived by his mother, Maria De Los Angeles Valenzuela; sister, Elisa Rae Valenzuela and husband Jason Carmona; niece, Annelyse Carmona; paternal grandparents, Raul and Irma Valenzuela; maternal grandmother, Agustina Villarreal, and special uncle, Raul P. Valenzuela. Aside, from his numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins, Jacob will also be missed by his many friends, teachers, classmates, coaches, and teammates. In his short, but fruitful life, he touched so many people, and will always be remembered because of his strong character, gentle, respectful way, and the big dimples that were always present, as he greeted everyone with a smile. May you rest in peace, Jake. Rosary is Tuesday, September 18, at 7:00 p.m., at St. Augustine Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Wednesday, September 19, at St. Augustine Catholic Church, at 10:00 a.m. Burial to follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park.
