James Edward "Jim" Potter Obituary
James Edward "Jim" Potter, age 90, passed away in his mountain home in Pine Flat, California on April 18, 2015, surrounded by family and friends. He was born on April 11, 1925 in Kerman, California to Clyde and Edna Potter. Born the sixth of nine children, Jim was the last surviving sibling. He lived in Kerman until he entered the Navy on July 18, 1944. Jim served in the Pacific until his discharge in June, 1946. He moved to Bakersfield after his discharge and became a truck driver. Jim married Audrey Francis "Fran" Potter in October, 1958. Jim and Fran lived in Bakersfield until Jim retired when they moved to Pine Flat.
Jim is survived by his stepson James Carrol; stepson Terry Palmer and his wife Cathy; grandson Sean Palmer and his wife Michele; granddaughter Kimberly Romans-Kroll and her husband Shaun; and many, nieces, nephews, and grand-nieces and grand-nephews.
After retirement, Jim's passion was spending time with friends and family at his mountain home in Pine Flat, or traveling the country with his beloved wife Fran, and with his brother and sister-in-law, Verne and Ruth Potter.
Jim lived on top of the mountain for 45 years, his beloved mountain home in Pine Flats, surrounded by friends he cherished very much. Now he is with his beloved wife Fran out dancing somewhere.
A remembrance in Jim's honor will be held at the Community Center in California Hot Springs on June 13, 2015 from 1-3 p.m.
