James I. Morrow Sr. Obituary
We take this day to honor James I. Morrow, Sr., a WW II Army/Air Corps B-17 Radio Operator. He was born on August 16, 1924 to Atmar Morrow and Edna Cranford- Morrow. While stationed at Meadows Field he met and married Rose Violet Kecskes-Morrow, the one true love of his life.
James fathered four children; James Jr. (wife Diane) of Tucson, AZ, Robert Dean (preceded him in death as an infant), Mark Owen (wife Pam) of Dallas, Texas, and Susan Michelle (husband Tom) of St. Joseph, MO. He has 13 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren.
James worked in the transportation industry for 26 years, retiring from Southern Pacific Rail Road and Cal-Cot Cotton. He was a Service Officer for the American Legion, member of the Ham Radio Club and enjoyed photography and BBQ'ing. Rather than mourn this day of his death, May 25, 2014, his family and friends choose to celebrate his life and take comfort knowing Rose is showing him around, strolling hand in hand in Heaven. We are sure if asked how he liked Heaven, he would reply "Well, Goodnight Yes!"
Visitation for James I. Morrow, Sr. will be held at Basham-Anspach Funeral Care (620 Oregon Street) on Thursday, May 29, 2014 from 4:00-6:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at Hillcrest Memorial Park on Friday, May 30, 2014 at 1:30 p.m. For additional information, please contact Basham Funeral Care at 873-8200.
