James Imming December 13, 1946 - April 14, 2013 James Imming, age 66, passed away peacefully on April 14, 2013 at home after a long battle of cancer. James served with the Naval Forces during the Vietnam War. He was a Correctional Officer with the California Department of Corrections for 30 years and retired in 2003. James is survived by his wife Bernadette of 26 years of marriage; and their son Anthony. He is also survived by his siblings, Butch (Phyllis) Beer, Carol (Gary) Robke, Daryl (Gerry) Beer, Karen (Drew) Garrison, Steve Beer, Cheryl (Kelly) Evesgerd, Patrick Beer, Denise (Ronald) Becker, Susie (Allan) Fiedler, all of Germantown, Illinois. Also, he left behind numerous cousins, sisters-in-law and friends here in Bakersfield. Visitation will be Thursday, April 18, from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. at Doughty- Calhoun-O'Meara. A graveside service will be held at 9:15 a.m. on Friday, April 19, at Bakersfield National Cemetery, 30338 E. Bear Mountain Blvd. off Hwy 58. A special thanks to Optimal Hospice for their great services. A reception to celebrate James' life will be held after the service . In lieu of flowers, donations in James' memory may be made to the USS OKANOGAN (APA-220) Organization, 7750 E. Broadway # 559 Mesa, AZ. 85208-1364.
