James P. Brown Obituary
James P. Brown March 21, 1933 - June 27, 2013 Jim was born in Wenatchee, WA, to Elias and Gladys Brown. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1951 - 1954 in the Korean War. He married Patricia Mitchell on January 24, 1954 and they were married 50 years. They had three children and lived in the Seattle area until moving to Bakersfield in 1972. Jim opened "Brown's Bar Supply" in 1975 servicing numerous restaurants and bars in town, until 2004 when his son, Joey took over the business. Dad recently celebrated his birthday and was so happy he made it to 80. He enjoyed playing golf and loved watching all sporting events. Jim was preceded in death by his wife, Pat; his brother, Bill; and sister, Betty. He is survived by his sister, Josie Ulrich; his brother, Dr. Edward Brown and wife, Beverly; his children, Sherrel Armstrong, Jim Brown, Jr., and Joey Brown and fiance, Mary; grandchildren, Brent and fiance, Daisy, Nikki, Kelcy and fiance, Jeffrey, Riley, and Ryan; and great-grandchild, Kayden. A special thanks to Optimal Hospice, Dr. Lee, and Dr. Bouldoukian for all their loving care. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, July 6, 2013, at 10:00 a.m. at Greenlawn Southwest Memorial Park, 2739 Panama Lane.
