James Roy Hindman Obituary
James Roy Hindman was born in Borger, TX, on February 27, 1930. He and his parents and siblings, Dorothy Prewett, Polly Hufft, Wanda Hufft, Mary Weaver, and Richard Hindman, moved to California in the early 1950s where he met his wife, Darlene. James worked as a mechanic for the County of Kern until he retired in 1995. He enjoyed riding horses, hunting, and spending time with his family. He accepted Christ at the age of 19 and never wavered from his faith.
James is survived by his wife of 61 years, Darlene Hindman; his daughters, Bonnie Shields and Susan Greer and her husband Doug; grandchildren, Jason Scheer and wife Morgan, Melissa Gayer and husband Graham, Matthew Greer, and Jackie Essman and husband Patrick. He was blessed with six great-grandchildren, Isabelle Scheer, Taylor and Grady Gayer, and Kiley, Jackson and Wyatt Essman.
The viewing will be held Thursday, April 30th, from 4-8 p.m. at Greenlawn Funeral Home Southwest; and graveside services on Friday, May 1st, at 10 a.m. The family would also like to give special thanks to Amanda Thompson, his caregiver.
