James Wesley Bryant Obituary
James Wesley Bryant left this world to be with the Lord on March 22nd, 2015 at the age of 88. Jame was born in Wilson, Oklahoma on May 14th, 1926. He moved to Shafter, California at the age of 8 with his family during the Great Dust Bowl. He began his career with the Kern County Land Company and Tenneco where he learned his trade. He spent the next years developing the southwest into ranch homes. He spent over 50 years in Agruculture and Land Development throughout Kern County. He worked in various areas including land leveling property, building water wells, and farming.
In his community, he was a member of the Odd Fellows where he took on leadership roles. He was an avid traveler with his wife and they spent many great times with their camping group. He also, enjoyed the cruise ship experience. He was a veteran of World War II and was able to participate on the Honor Flight in the last few years of his life. James was full of life and enjoyed spending time with his family.
James is preceded in death by his first wife Billie, his mom and dad Bessie and Otto, his brothers and sisters. He is survived by his wife of 20 years Roberta, his daughter Carolyn and husband Skip, his son Jim and wife Nancy, his son Greg and wife Barbie, his daughter Becky and his daughter Libby and husband Terry. He is also, survived by 11 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, March26th, 2015 at 12:30 p.m. at Kern City Townhall 1003 Pebble Beach Drive. A reception following the memorial service will be held at Kern City Townhall.
The family would like to thank Hoffmann Hospice for their loving care and support. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in James' name to Hoffmann Hospice.
