Jean Adams , 84, of Taft, California born to parents LeeRoy and Clemmie Johns in Clay County, Arkansas, suddenly passed away March 3, 2015. Jean was one of twelve children.
Jean married Harry Adams, her childhood sweetheart, on September 11, 1946 in Corning, Arkansas. They moved to Shafter, California in 1948 and eventually settled in Taft, California, where she lived the rest of her life. She and Harry had four children: three sons: Gary and wife Paula, Lary and wife Cristina, Mark and wife Cheryl Adams, and one daughter Patty Adams: six grandchildren: Tammy Clinton, Laurie Eberhart, Lisa Jack, Beau Adams, Skyler O'Neill and Clay Adams: 17 great grandchildren: Corrine, Lonnie, Parris, Regan, Jackson, Clint, Brady, Jordyn, Cole, Kaleb, Conner, Courtney, Sean, Dean, Scarlett, Avery, Maya: 1 great-great grandchild: Xavier.
She worked for many years a a clerk for J.C. Pennys, but spent the majority of her working career as a grocery clerk for Safeway, Harrison City Market and Ford City Market. She loved the interaction with her customers and was always a willing "ear" for their daily trials and tribulations. She finished her working career as a security weighmaster for the Elk Hills Oil Complex.
She loved her family and was always very interested in hearing any new exploits of all her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchild.
Her family and friends will always love and miss her greatly and hope she finds, the peace she deserves.
Graveside service will be held Friday, March 13th, beginning at 11:00 am at the Shafter Cemetery.
