Jeanie Ramos "Tata" November 6, 1948 - October 27, 2012 Visitation for Jeanie Ramos "Tata" will held at Bakersfield Christian Church (3200 Bernard Street) on Thursday, November 1, 2012 beginning at 6:00 p.m. with a Wake Service at 6:30 p.m. Funeral services will also be held at Bakersfield Christian Church on Friday, November 2, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Union Cemetery. Jeanie was born on November 6, 1948 in Penuelas, Puerto Rico to the proud parents of Roque and Eugena Cruz. She was the eldest child of six children to this union. The family moved to Lamont, CA in 1963 where Jeanie received her education at Sunset School. Jeanie worked diligently as a day laborer at Gimara, Sunview, Gagosian and many other businesses. Jeanie met and fell in love with Confesor Ramos and married in 1967. To this union, one son, Dimas Ramos was born. Although she only had one son, she was beheld as mother and "Mama Jeanie" to most. Jeanie gave her life to the Lord in 2001 and attended Bakersfield Christian Church where Rev. David Stepp is the Senior Pastor. Jeanie actively participated in Worship Service and supported the church in every way she could. Jeanie leaves to cherish her memories; her husband, Confesor Ramos; son, Dimas and his wife Janice; nine grandchildren, Dimas Jr., Rebecca Vidalia and Shania Teresa Ramos, Patrick Leon Thomas, Alonza Rydell Thomas Jr., Phillip Alexander Thomas, Leilah Thomas, Dionna Venus, Deayon Venus and Tommy Watson; two brothers, Wilfredo and Gerado Cruz; sister, Carmen Rivera all of Bakersfield; she also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends to cherish her memories.
