Jerry Lee Mainus Obituary
Jerry Lee Mainus June 3, 1946 - November 17, 2013 Jerry Lee Mainus departed this earth to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Nov. 17, 2013. He was preceded in death by his parents Ed Mainus Sr. and Eva Bryan. Left to cherish his memory is his loving and devoted wife of 44 years Linda, three daughters Amber Hagiwara ( husband Steve) Deana Ford ( husband Jason) Jennifer Mancilla ( husband David). He also leaves behind six of the most adored grandchildren on this earth ; LeeAnn & Jessie Hagiwara, Joshua & Levi Ford, Gianna & Isabella Mancilla. Five siblings; Pat Brown, Ellen Kramme, Fern Kent, Birdie James and Eddie Mainus. He also leaves behind his brother in law and best friend Tommy "Joey" Keeling and numerous nieces and nephews. Jerry was born on June 3, 1946 in El Centro, Ca. He was a resident of Kern County since 1949 and attended schools in Arvin, Ca. At the age of 17, he enlisted in the Army and was stationed in Korea where he proudly served his country. He married the love of his life Linda on September 6, 1969, where they embarked on a life long journey of love and dedication to one another. Linda and Jerry were a living example of true love and commitment. They faced a lot together over 44 years, but together there was no obstacle they couldn't overcome, theirs was a love that truly stood the test of time. After working as a correctional officer in Tehachapi, he began a career in real estate and ended his career as a mortgage banker. Although he had great success in his professional life, his greatest satisfaction came from time spent with his family. Dad loved to reminisce about the years he spent coaching his daughters on the softball field at GBA, where he left a lasting impression on so many kids hearts. His pride and joy were his six grandchildren with whom he spent countless hours telling stories, riding four wheelers, swimming, fishing, cuddling, and doing pretty much anything else they wanted. "Papa Doodah" as they all called him, left his mark on the heart of every grandchild. No husband, father, Papa or friend will ever be loved or missed more than Jerry. We will celebrate his life at a Memorial Service at 10 am on Monday November 25th, in the Celebration of Life Center. Greenlawn Southwest. www.bakersfield.com/obits
