Jessie Floyd Obituary
Jessie Floyd was born February 18, 1919. In Weleeka, Oklahoma to Henry and Maude Kirkland. Jessie married the love of her life George Floyd and gave birth to four children.
Jessie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, George, her brother, Roy, sisters, Dora, Darcus, Claudia, Dovey, Lucille, and grandson, Demetrius Floyd.
She is survived by a brother, Henry Kirkland, of Fresno, CA.; her sons, Ernest Floyd, his wife Caren of Bakersfield, CA.; and Larry Floyd of Seattle, WA.; daughters, Geri Spencer, her husband, John of Bakersfield, CA.; and Carole Houston, her husband, Seawadon of Atlanta, GA.
Also, grandchildren, Michael Spencer of Foster City, CA.; Brenda Harrison, her husband, Derrick of Sacramento, CA.; Curtis Floyd, his wife, Jennifer of Bakersfield, CA.; LTC. Michele Spencer of Sacramento, CA.; Toni Gore, her husband, Wayne of Atlanta, GA.; George Houston, his wife, Kathleen of San Carlos, CA.; Michael Houston, his wife, Rohna of Oakland, CA.; John Spencer, his wife, Lisette of Fresno, CA.; seventeen great-grandchildren; a special friend, Emma Williams; many nieces, nephews; and friends who loved her.
Jessie enjoyed cooking for her family and friends. She was known for her Monkey Bread among her grandchildren. She attended the Church of the Living God (C.W.F.F.) Temple 55, and exemplified a strong faith in God.
The Floyd Family wishes to express their gratitude and thanks to Optimal Hospice Care and the Rose Garden Home Facility.
Mrs. Floyd's request for a graveside service only will be honored, and held at Union Cemetery Garden of Roses on Wednesday, May 28th at 10:00 a.m. where she will rest in peace next to her husband.
