Jesus "Jesse" Garcia 1956 - 2012 Jesus "Jesse" Garcia, 55, resident of California City, was born on June 8, 1956, and went home to join our Lord on April 27, 2012. He was born in Mexico but resided in Kern County for the past 39 years. He was an employee of BNSF Railway. He was active in the community as a Search and Rescue volunteer, coaching his children's softball, baseball, and football teams. He loved playing co-ed softball and volleyball, scuba diving, camping, and traveling. He is survived by the love of his life of 38 years, Martha; his three children and their spouses, Olivia, Joel, Sandra, Travis, Jesus, Jr., and Amanda; his seven precious grandchildren; his mother, Socorro; his nino, Raymundo, who was like a father to him, and his wife, Josephina; his "favorite cousin," Veronica and her husband, Edward and their sons; his cousin, Maria Socorro and her husband, Manuel and their children; along with his many family members in Tijuana and Durango, Mexico; his countless sisters and brothers-in-law; and all his brothers at BNSF Railways. Thank you to his doctors and nurses at A.V. Hospital and Cedars-Sinai for their support and care during his last days. Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 3, 2012, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Greenlawn Southwest Memorial Chapel, 2739 Panama Lane. Mass will be held on Friday, May 4, 2012, at 10:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, 9915 Ramos St., followed by burial at Greenlawn Southwest Memorial Park.
