Jo Beth Kehoe Obituary
Jo Beth Kehoe December 1, 1920 - June 13, 2013 Jo Beth Kehoe of Alamo, CA passed away June 13, 2013 after her battle with the effects of dementia and Alzheimer's. She was not in any pain in her passing and left us in a peaceful state. She was born December 1, 1920 in Bentonville, Arkansas to Clyde and Lizzie Caughey. Sometime during the 1930's she and her family moved to Taft, CA. Jo Beth attended Taft Union High School, graduating in 1938. She married James Cecil Kehoe in 1941 after meeting him at Taft High. Cecil managed the Taft Airport where the couple lived until 1976. They moved to Bakersfield where they both retired before moving to Pismo Beach. After the passing of her husband Cecil of 60 years, Jo Beth moved to Alamo, CA to be closer to her sons. Jo Beth worked most of her life in the secretarial field. Her positions included working in the medical records department at doctors' offices and Taft hospital. Her career ended in retirement as an medical records specialist in the Student Health Center at CSU Bakersfield. Some of the things Jo Beth enjoyed were going to Las Vegas, cooking, and traveling with Cecil in their motor home. She enjoyed spending long summers at Avila Beach, CA in the late 50's and early 60's. While Jo Beth never learned to swim, she spent endless days on the beach watching her sons' body surf and water ski. She loved clamming in Pismo with her family and made a great clam chowder. Her most favorite pastime later in life was shopping with friends and daughter-in-law Barbara. She is survived by her son Mark, wife Barbara; grandsons Matt, wife Albina, great granddaughter Emma and Aaron, partner Christine and son Robert; granddaughter Natalie, husband Scott, great grandchildren Cora, Kia, and Carmen; granddaughter Jami, husband Justin and great grandchildren Piper and Maddox and grandson Robby, wife Julie.
